CA Republican Convention March 2025!

The California Republican Convention was held right next door to us in Sacramento this month. El Dorado County was well represented by a team of delegates from the EDC RCC. The event expanded and built upon goals under the new leadership of Corrin Rankin such as registering voters, unifying the party, supporting Central Committees, winning assembly races, and voter ID.

Congratulations to the New Chairman Corrin Rankin!

Corrin Rankin, who spoke at the EDC RCC General Meeting last month, was elected CAGOP Chair. As a long time supporter of President Trump, she declared she plans to “end the Democrats’ one-party rule and make California great again”. She envisions the party gaining ground in California by focusing on common sense policies that appeal to a broad base, such as public safety and the economy. She also emphasizes supporting local politics and grassroots efforts.

Drawing in New Voters

One avenue that the CAGOP plans to focus on is closing the gap in voters registered Republican in California. Rankin particularly mentioned reaching out to younger voters, independents, Latino and Asian American communities. Safety, education, and many other common sense policies appeal to people from all walks of life, and letting those in our communities know what we stand for will draw in those who have avoided getting involved in the past or who are feeling abandoned by the Democratic party and looking for a better fit.

Impacting the whole state requires the effort of local Central Committees in every county. Rankin emphasized her desire to support these local branches. Rankin knows the Central Committees are the heart of the movement toward making our state great again. Resources, training, and support are all avenues Rankin intends to pursue in empowering these local powerhouses.

A crucial element of helping our Assemblyman candidates and other candidates win is ensuring our elections are conducted with integrity and accuracy. A crucial element of this that Rankin wants to prioritize is getting Voter ID on the ballot and back in California elections. This is a crucial step in ensuring that elections are fair and honest.
